Tech Updates

During planned updates to modernize our legacy IT systems, we detected suspicious technical activity and, out of caution, took our platforms offline.

The extended downtime reflects the time needed to conduct a thorough forensic investigation, including engaging leading security experts to help us understand what happened and strengthen our platforms. That investigation has not identified any evidence that sensitive customer information was impacted.

This prolonged downtime has caused disruption and frustration across our community, and we appreciate our customers’ and partners’ patience as we restore our services safely. Our team maintains full access to our systems and data. Restoration is underway, and services will return in phases, prioritized by customer need.

What you can expect:

  • Submissions: All cards currently in our custody remain secure and protected within our facility.
  • Grading & Certification Integrity: Core certification, grade records, and historical population databases remain intact and uncompromised.
  • Data & Account Security: We have no evidence of impact to sensitive customer information.

Over the coming weeks, we will be releasing the modernized rebuilds of our platforms through a prioritized, phased rollout:

  • Phase 1: Customer Accounts, Online Submission Center, Certificate Look-up and Pop Reports
  • Phase 2: Online Price Guide, Marketplace, and Dealer Admin portals
  • Phase 3: Beckett Authentication Services, Mobile App Updates

Like many organizations, Beckett operates in a landscape where systems are increasingly subject to targeting by unauthorized third parties.

As a general security precaution, we always recommend best practices including using strong, unique passwords; enabling two-factor authentication where available; and monitoring account activity regularly.
